Feature audit of short-form video platforms in Indonesia vs. USA

Business Issues & Project Objectives

Our client, a prominent short-video content platform, sought to review their product features and compare them with those of their primary competitor in the industry.   Consequently, they required a study to understand and quantify the gap in the product features between the two platforms – in both Indonesia and USA

Our Approach

Quantitative study through features audit (e.g., Content Creation, Creator, Home Page, Settings & Privacy features, etc.) of short-video content platforms in Indonesia and US.  We compiled a list of features present in the clients’ and competitors’ short-form video platforms in both Indonesia and USA market. Following that, we did a comparison to assess the availability of features and identify any gaps between the platforms in both regions.

Outcome and Project Impact

We were able to identify the gap of the features in the Indonesia and US, as well as the gap of the features between our client’s platform and the competitor.  Furthermore, by applying the Kano Model theory, we classified the features that required further development and prioritized them for future focus.  The insights of the study will be utilized to assist our client in shaping and enhancing their platform features in the future.
